Career Summary
Advanced mechanical engineer with a focus on numerical analysis: CFD, FEA and Computing. I have started my career in engineering as teaching assistant at the Naval Academy. There I taught Strength of Materials, Fluid Dynamics and Naval Architecture. Entered the energy industry as a mechanical engineer at Emerson Process Management. After one year I switched to numerical analysis to take more decisions in the design of products. I have worked on developing the MR95/98 regulator which is the top sold regulator in the United States. As a Numerical Analysis Engineer I contributed to several products in the pressure regulator industry using ANSYS Mechanical and Fluent.
In mid 2015 I entered the automotive industry as a CAE/System Performance Engineer. Now I am in charge with finite element analyses of airbags and steering wheels. In this position I work with HyperMesh, OptiStruct, PamCrash, Abaqus and HyperView. A lot Linux work is also needed as the solving is done remotely on an optimized cluster.
Besides work I have several CFD related projects through which I try to popularize CFD and open source. For instance I started working on an online book about CFD with OpenFOAM and a blog about CFD.
I am constantly developing my knowledge to contribute in making great products.
